Castlehill, Edinburgh

It's not often that the street is empty of vehicles and people. Camera Obscura on left, Witchery and Whisky Heritage Centre on the right. The brooding spire in the background is of the Tollbooth Church, now The Hub, and the highest point in Edinburgh!

Just as an excercise in posting photos direct from Picasa! A bit confusing, as it tries to do it through Internet Explorer, and an error message comes up. Click all that away and it works, but a bit clumsy!

Just to clarify a point, I hope your not suggesting that "Hub" building is the tallest building in Edinburgh.
I doubt its the highest point either, when I was a boy soldier working in the castle kitchens we used to throw doughnuts at the weather cock and see who could hang one on it, it was a bit tricky as it used to twirl free ly in the wind.

The Hub, or the Tolbooth Church, previously, is the dark silhouetted spire in the background, and is the highest point in Edinburgh, higher than the Castle Flagpole. I doubt you were throwing doughnuts at its weather-cock!?
I am guessing you are referring to the Camera Obscura tower, with purple lighting and white top, on the left!

I could have quite happily joined you in that game, had I been there!

Cheers
